The new Late Late Show with James Corden is off to a good start.
The British actor/fictitious father of Doctor Who‘s Stormageddon made his debut on late night with none other than Tom Hanks on Monday.
Together the two (almost) re-enacted every single Tom Hanks movie in under seven minutes. We say almost because Corden had no idea what to do when it came to the Wachowski siblings’ Cloud Atlas. It’s okay, Corden, we had no idea what was going on either.
Some other highlights include the “Down Down Baby” clapping game from Big, their Sleepless in Seattle moment (that blonde wig!), Corden’s transformation into Wilson from Castaway and their rendition of “You’ve Got A Friend in Me” from the Toy Story franchise (the NOSTALGIA).
Sigh. We hope this is just the start of a promising friendship. Who knows? Maybe Hanks will be the Matt Damon to Corden’s Jimmy Kimmel except, you know, Corden will actually let Hanks onto the show.
